Coronation Street fans reckon Alina Pop could be killed off in a shock twist - with one surprise resident behind the murder.

The character, played by Ruxandra Porojnicu. made her shock return to the soap this week. Alina first appeared on the cobbles in 2019 - and had two stints on the long-running show.

During her second stint in 2020, she drove a wedge between Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) and his long-term partner Fiz (Jennie Mcalpine). Sparks immediately flew between the two, with Tyrone making the difficult decision to call time on his nine-year relationship with Fiz.

However, after Alina got pregnant, the mechanic’s pyromaniac daughter Hope (Isabella Flanagan) wasn’t best pleased with her dad’s new girlfriend.

Hellbent on splitting the pair up, Hope lit a fire in the flat which inevitably caused Alina to miscarry her baby.

Alina eventually left the cobbles, and despite telling Tyrone she was pregnant she informed him she wasn’t actually - and had the dates mixed up. However, in her final scene, viewers saw her at the airport departures lounge where she cradled her blossoming baby bump.

Now, three years later and Alina is back. And when Tyrone found out about her return, he was left reeling. He managed to track her down, where she confessed that he was her son’s father.

However, viewers now fear that Alina could be getting killed off from the soap in a heartbreaking twist - and fans reckon they know exactly who will be behind the murder.

Fans reckon Alina's baby will 'tip Hope Dobbs over the edge' (Image: ITV)

Sharing their thoughts online, one person said on X: “So that's Alina probably dead by xmas and Tyrone and Fizz raising the kid.” A second penned: “Now that Alina is back with a kid, she's got a 90% chance of being dead by the end of the year. #corrie."

While on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, another fan mused: “I’ve seen people say that Alina could die later in the year, how do you think they will kill her off?” A second replied: “Hope definitely! Tyrone’s new son is going to send her over the edge.”

A third said: “I think she will get killed, so Tyrone and Fizz has Dorin, as she has no family and is on her own. Maybe Hope will have something to do with it.”
