Now that World of Warcraft's Season of Discovery has officially launched Phase 4, players can finally reach the classic in-game level cap of 60. Now that the leveling process has come to an end, the players can focus on a whole list of other activities to get optimal gear and gain access to virtually all endgame content.
Some of the endgame content for players in WoW: SoD phase 4 is the same as or inspired by the classic game from more than 20 years ago, some features are completely new. The whole concept of Runes is unique, and one of the level 60 dungeons, Demon Fall Canyon, only exists in this version of WoW.

These are the dungeons you should explore in Phase 4 of Wow Season of Discovery.
Some of the questlines and attunement requirements are available to players as early as level 55 or 57. It's recommended to get started as soon as possible because this often involves longer chain quests that might take one or two levels to finish.
Phase 4 Runes
New For Levels 55 And Up
Runes have been compared to Enchantments because they make the same kinds of gear changes, but Runes are specifically used to change the roles that certain classes can take. At level 60, various new options are available for unique character builds.Warlocks can now be tanks, and Warriors have healing abilities, just to give a few examples.
- Ring Runes: New to Phase 4, rune engravings can now be applied to rings. Each character has space for two rings and one Rune for each. Unlike previous Runes, none of these are specific to a single class. They provide both spell and weapon buffs and can be used by numerous classes for different builds.
- Skill Books: These were present in Classic WoW and pertain to certain classes. Once a character has maxed out their talents and skills, upgrading them is only possible by using these books. They currently drop in endgame instances such as Molten Core and Blackrock Spire.

Upgrade To BiS Gear For Raiding
How And Where To Get It
Getting into the raid is only half the battle. Having the optimal gear, along with the proper enchantments and buffs, is essential to be an effective part of any raiding team. Exact armor sets will vary depending on the character's role, and it's common to have more than one set of gear for different ones. Players can get BiS gear from the following sources:
- Dungeon Drops: Almost every endgame dungeon will have BiS gear that either drops from trash or specific bosses. Win a dice roll against others to win the item, and if others need it, reset the instance and run it again. Drop rates for some items will vary.
- Crafting: Some of the highest-rated BiS items are crafted by Tailors, Blacksmiths, or Leatherworkers. The materials are often rare and expensive, and sometimes finding them is even more difficult than grinding Honor or fighting a boss.
- Quest and PvP Rewards: At this level of the game, class or profession quests will be available that require a player to max out their skills and produce a special item. This is often a BiS piece of gear made with ingredients from all over Azeroth.

Attunement Quests
Ready For Raiding
The notorious attunement quests include a fair amount of travel, money, and time to complete, but they're mandatory for gaining access to the raid. Most of these are from back in the day and have a long and legendary history, while others are new and only found in SoD.
- Molten Core: The quest "Attunement to the Core" can be picked up from Lothos Riftwaker, an elf in Blackrock Mountain. It requires a trip deep into Blackrock Depths to retrieve a Core Fragment. This allows Lothos to attune the character with the entrance portal so they can magically transport there directly instead of going through BRD again.
- Onyxia's Lair: Only adventurers who possess the Drakefire Amulet will be able to enter the lair of Azeroth's first and oldest raid. There are different quests to follow for each faction, but they both start in Burning Steppes and lead all over Azeroth. Alliance players can start with the quest "Dragonkin Menace" by speaking to Helendis Riverhorn in Morgan's Vigil. Horde players will get Onyxia Attunement as part of the "Warlord's Command" quest that starts in Kargath.
- Demon Fall Canyon: More of an unlock quest than Attunement, this is similar to MC in that only a single quest is required. "Demonic Deceptions" is available from a Shadowtooth Emissary located in Felwood, a zone to the north. Complete the quest and be rewarded with a Shadowtooth Illusion Ward, which allows the character to see through the demonic illusions hiding the entrance.
Endgame Dungeons
For The Gold, Gear, & Reputation
Level 60 players might be finished with dungeons for leveling, but it's important to continue to run dungeons for rare materials and search for endgame gear. The following instances allow access at level 55 or 57, so players don't have to wait until level 60 to get started.
- Undead Stratholme: The Live side of this dungeon is the only way to reach the Undead side, unless someone has a key or there's a Rogue in the party with a high lockpicking skill. Several questlines start, continue, and end here and follow the Classic lore of Azeroth, especially for Humans and the Forsaken.
- Demon Fall Canyon: This entirely new instance is only available in WoW: SoD, a short quest required first to unlock Demon Fall Canyon. The dungeon is intended for players level 57 and up, but the quest is available as early as the late 40s.
- Upper Black Rock Spire: The first and last stop for BiS raid gear for virtually every class, UBRS is a ten-player instance that players usually visit after Blackrock Depths and Lower Blackrock Spire.

Stranglethorn Vale Blood Moon PvP
Blood For The Blood God
The Blood Moon is the highest-level PvP event in Azeroth so far. However, it's not like incursions or battlegrounds. Even the guards and vendors turn hostile during this time. Any player that simply wants to quest, travel, or farm materials during this time needs a special buff.
The Zandalari Ward
At every point of entry in Stranglethorn Vale, which includes the zeppelin landing in Grom Gol, the dock in Booty Bay, and the road from Duskwood, a Zanadalri Emissary is waiting with a giant drop of blood floating over their head. Speak to them, and they'll grant the Zandalari Ward, which allows the character to move freely throughout STV. This buff is permanent and can only be removed in the same way.
Although the Zandalari Ward protects the character from the event specifically, they'll still be vulnerable to regular PvP challenges if they're on a PvP server.
